Accessibility

Applicable Regulations

Did you know that a web application not being accessible can be a violation of the 1993 Human Rights Act? and that if some of your users are abroad, the laws of their countries' might also be applicable?

We help you identify the regulations protecting your target audience, be them located in New Zealand, Europe, the United States, or another country.

Assessments

How can you know if there are any accessibility issues in your application? We identify a representative sample of pages and evaluate it according to the applicable regulation. In most cases, the laws rely on an international standard, the WCAGs (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). We adapt our grid to your goals, which might also include custom criteria.

Fixing Issues

Once we have identified issues, how do we fix them? Accessibility issues usually require actions at three levels: design, content and development. We can fix them for you or support your team in fixing them. The level of support can go from providing suggestions to pairing with them to transfer our knowledge and help them reach autonomy.

Accessibility Statement

Some regulations, such as the European Accessibility Act, require an accessibility statement. We share a template with you and support you in filling it out.

Sustainable Strategy

If your application evolves regularly, you need to integrate accessibility into your design, development and testing processes. We can tailor a plan to let your product reach compliance and sustain it. Depending on the size and composition of your team and the lifecycle of your web applications, actions may include raising awareness and training collaborators, regularly assessing compliance, fixing issues, adding checklists to your processes and mentioning accessibility in the contracts with your partners.

Training

We provide pointers to resources and training courses adapted to the maturity of your team. We can also coach your team members, individually or in groups.
